Top Chef Finalist Releases New Cookbook

Food Network's Iron Chef winner and Top Chef Kentucky Season Finalist competitor Justin Sutherland is gearing up to release his highly anticipated cookbook, NORTHERN SOUL in stores on September 20, 2022 (Harvard Common Press, an imprint of Quarto Publishing Group | QuartoKnows.com).

Northern Soul features more than 90 recipes covering his signature techniques for lunch, brunch, dinner, snacks, late-night meals, and cocktails perfected at Handsome Hog, his acclaimed pig-centric Southern restaurant in St. Paul, Minnesota. Rachel Ray, Andrew Zimmern, Guy Fieri, and Marcus Samuelsson all provide rave reviews for Justin’s new cookbook, which also includes a forward by Kwame Onwuachi. Justin shares how you can make easy, traditional Southern recipes with a Northern flair, in your own kitchen. Some of the recipes you will learn how to cook in Northern Soul include:
  • Carolina BBQ Sandwich
  • Chicken and Waffles
  • Ham and Greens Soup
  • Creole Jambalaya
  • Bourbon Pecan Pie with Maple Whip
  • Signature cocktails from Handsome Hog including Coffee-Infused Boulevardier, a Smoked Absinthe Rinse, and a Bourbon Slushy
  • Lots of spice blends, sauces, rubs, and, as they do it in the South, pickled everything!
Sutherland is a nationally recognized cooking celebrity, chef, and entrepreneur who is the co-host of the nationally syndicated Fast Foodies (TruTV), a producer and host of Taste the Culture (TBS, TNT).
