ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Kate Dee, a leading expert in medical aesthetics and the founder of Glow Medispa in Seattle, where she specializes in a comprehensive range of treatments, including injectables, skin care, lasers, and body sculpting. With a career spanning several decades, she brings a wealth of experience from her background in Aesthetic Medicine, Laser Technology, Injectables, and Healthcare Information Technology (HIT). Her book Med Spa Mayhem offers an in-depth look at the realities (or nightmares) of the medical spa industry, complemented by her podcast.
Dr. Dee earned her BS in Biology and MD from Yale University, completing her medical training in 1994. She continued her training with a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Washington, followed by a fellowship in Breast Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Dee then served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington for three years before working as a breast cancer specialist at the Seattle Breast Center until 2015.
As she transitioned to aesthetic medicine, Dr. Dee made significant contributions to the field through her innovative practice and dedication to business ethics and the medicolegal aspects of aesthetic medicine. Based in West Seattle, she balances her professional life with being a proud mother of three and enjoys skiing, cycling, playing tennis, and cooking.
