Harbor Life A hub for environmentally-focused educational programs, the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center boasts a total of more than 8 miles of hiking trails and other recreational opportunities to the community. Visitors looking for a stroll will find 3,000 acres of public preserve land, with approximately four miles of hiking trails filled with wildlife observation areas, guided tours with volunteer trail interpreters, and more.
Harbor Walk Trail & Free Bike Loaner Program Punta Gorda’s Harbor Walk is a 2.5-mile walk along the beautiful Charlotte Harbor shoreline. Part of the Punta Gorda Pathways program, it connects to Fishermen’s Village, a must-visit highlight of Punta Gorda and the place to hop on a King Fisher Fleet tour of the harbor, the Peace River and nearby islands Gasparilla Island/Boca Grande, Cayo Costa and Cabbage Key. The Harbor Walk is a fantastic location to take advantage of the Free Bike Loaner Program that is unique to Punta Gorda. Bike stations include Fishermen’s Village, Laishley Marina, Bayfront Punta Gorda’s Wellness Center, Sheraton Four Points and SpringHill Suites.
